Who you are buying from

Northgreaves Plant & Machinery Limited is registered in England and Wales, company number 17468234. Our trading and correspondence address is Unit 2, Byram Business Park, Brotherton, Knottingley, WF11 9HS. Email northgreavesplant@gmail.com. Our statutory registered office is listed separately in our company details.

Viewings and collections are by appointment. Please arrange the viewing, collection or return location with us before travelling or sending machinery.

Stock, sourcing and condition

Listings marked Sourcing example — not current stock show the type of machine we can help look for. They are not an offer of a particular machine available for immediate purchase. Availability is confirmed when we discuss your enquiry.

Used machinery varies in age, wear, specification and history. Before an order, we will identify the actual machine, its included attachments, known defects and the information available about its condition. Unless expressly verified in writing, hour readings are the displayed meter readings. Please discuss your intended use, arrange a viewing where practical and ask about anything important to your decision.

Prices and VAT

A displayed price is for the machine and included items described in its listing. Where VAT applies, the total including VAT is shown; the listing may also show the net price. “No VAT” means VAT is not charged on that sale. “Price on application” means we will provide a quotation before you decide.

We confirm the applicable VAT treatment, any agreed extras and the complete amount payable in writing before an order. Delivery is optional and quoted separately according to the machine, destination and access requirements; its agreed cost is included in the order total. Any unavoidable charge is included in the quoted total. Do not make payment until you have received and checked your order details.

Enquiries, reservations and payment

This website takes enquiries, not online purchases. Sending a form does not reserve a machine or create a purchase contract. Before accepting an order, we provide written details of the machine, price, payment arrangements, any deposit, delivery or collection arrangements and applicable sales terms. The written order explains when the contract is formed.

Any reservation or deposit arrangement must be agreed in writing. Deposits are not automatically non-refundable, and any cancellation charge must be lawful and fair. Consumer rights are unaffected by the payment method.

Collection and delivery

We agree timing, location and unloading arrangements before the order is accepted. Tell us about restricted access, ground conditions or lifting requirements so suitable arrangements can be made. For consumer orders, delivery will be within 30 days unless a different period is agreed.

If collecting, your vehicle, trailer and load-restraint arrangements must be suitable for the machine and lawful for the journey. Ask for the machine's transport weight and dimensions in advance, including attachments. Collection is subject to safe loading arrangements.

Consumer cancellation rights

If you buy as a consumer under a qualifying distance or off-premises contract, you normally have 14 days starting the day after you receive the goods to tell us you wish to cancel, without giving a reason. Send a clear cancellation statement by email or post using the contact details above. Include your name, contact details and the machine or order concerned. You do not have to use a particular form.

You then normally have 14 days from telling us to return the goods. Before a qualifying order is made, we provide the cancellation information, model cancellation form, return arrangements and who bears the return cost. Machinery usually cannot be returned by ordinary post, so any return cost you must bear will be explained before the contract.

For a valid cancellation, we refund the purchase price and the cost of the least expensive standard delivery option offered. We may withhold the refund until the goods are received back or you provide evidence of return, whichever is earlier, unless we offered to collect them. The refund is due within 14 days of that point and normally uses the original payment method. A lawful deduction may apply for diminished value caused by handling beyond what is necessary to establish the goods' nature, characteristics and functioning.

A change-of-mind right does not automatically apply to purchases concluded at our premises or to business purchases. Any additional agreed cancellation rights will be recorded in the order. Where a statutory exception applies, we will explain it before you order.

Faults and complaints

Consumer goods must match their description, be fit for the agreed purpose and be of satisfactory quality, taking account of factors including age, price and disclosed condition. Used machinery is not excluded from those rights. Where goods breach those requirements, consumers normally have a 30-day short-term right to reject; repair, replacement, price reduction or a further right to reject may apply under the statutory rules.

Contact us promptly with the order details and a description of the problem. Stop using equipment if it may be unsafe. We will discuss the appropriate remedy and any inspection or return arrangements. These rights are separate from change-of-mind cancellation rights and are not removed by an inspection, “sold as seen” wording or the absence of a warranty.

For a complaint, email northgreavesplant@gmail.com or write to our trading and correspondence address above. Business purchases are governed by the agreed business terms and applicable law. This page does not replace the transaction-specific written order and does not limit statutory rights.
